According to the Alzheimer's Association, Alzheimer's disease accounts for 60 to 80 percent of dementia cases. Alzheimer's disease is not just a disease for the aged, it is not a normal part of aging and there are some people who experience early onset of the disease. Caring for a loved one with this disease can be very difficult both emotionally and physically. Our staff is trained in the Habilitation approach to assisting someone with dementia using the "Care for People with Alzheimer's Disease" program created by the Alzheimer's Association MANH Chapter presented collaboratively with the Alzheimer's Association Connecticut Chapter.
